My teaching techniques are the following:
First, knowing the student well is one thing that I will do first so that I will know what course we are going to use, or what actions should be taken. Secondly, I have to be as amiable as possible, I just don't know if my voice will help as I have a really low and childish voice. But, one should be able to level his/her understanding with the student. Thirdly, I should be able to engage them with the materials by choosing topics that they can enjoy. Lastly, I should be confident that they will be able to learn using my own teaching style and the materials provided.
Good day! I am Marielle.
Why is English important?
Sometimes, using English as a form of communication shows one's competence. It is something that can be learned through proper education; or informally such as watching or hearing English movies and reading books. Furthermore, English language traverses the world despite each country's diversity in culture, tradition, etc. English is one of the most widely known and used language in this era. Learning English language is important especially to people who wants to explore the international stage, but English has already been influential even in domestic setting.
Why do you want to be an English teacher?
Being an English teacher is something that I did not plan to do. But ever since I was young, I always wanted to be a pre-school teacher; it is just that my degree is highly unrelated to what I have dreamed of. So, I just grabbed the opportunity to apply, when I found the advertisement for hiring. This chance may become my one and only path, or may pave way for a greater tomorrow, but I will still try my utmost to be of help to the students. I wanted to experience teaching as much as I can. Moreover, as I engage to teaching, I would be able to apply my learnings in Psychology about how people are able to receive information which is for now is English language. With that, I can understand the thoughts and behaviors of a student toward learning and do appropriate actions that could help their English language reception despite being non-native speakers.
How to teach English efficiently?
As I have stated before, English can be learned. For me, teaching English efficiently can be done through practice. A person can learn a lot by experiencing it first hand, rather than being taught verbally. So, for better reception of English language, one must focus on a student's capability to use the language as much as possible. Teaching English efficiently means that a teacher should be able to understand the student, and guide him/her with using the language to further his/her potential.
